These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Grove ("the App"), a personal finance coaching application. By creating an account or using Grove, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Grove.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a legally binding contract to use Grove. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@grovefi.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their explicit consent.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Grove for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent financial data
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of Grove or its infrastructure
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Grove
- Use Grove to harm, harass, or defraud others
- Transmit malware, viruses, or any other harmful code
4. Financial Disclaimer — Not Financial Advice
Important: Grove is not a financial advisor.
Grove provides financial coaching tools, data organization, and AI-generated insights to help you understand your own financial information. Nothing in Grove constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Grove is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, or financial planner.
All insights, summaries, recommendations, and AI-generated content are for informational and educational purposes only. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making significant financial choices.
5. Your Data
You own your financial data. You grant Grove a limited license to process and store your data solely to provide the App's features to you. We do not sell your data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your information.
When you delete your account, you may choose to either (a) wipe all data completely, or (b) retain anonymized financial data for future reference if you re-register. Anonymized data contains no personal information and cannot be linked back to you. You may request a full data wipe at any time from Settings.
6. AI-Generated Content
Grove uses artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic Claude) to generate financial summaries, categorize transactions, and answer questions about your finances. AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You should verify AI-generated insights against your own records and judgment.
AI responses are generated based on the financial data you have provided to Grove. The quality and accuracy of AI insights depend on the completeness and accuracy of your imported data.
7. Availability and Changes
Grove is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Grove at any time, with or without notice, though we will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Grove after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Grove and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Grove shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (or $10 if you have not made any payments).
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.
Upon termination, your right to use Grove ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Grove shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.
